Out of the sky, as it were, came a woman’s blood-curdling scream….

Someone had killed ASHA, a rich young heiress by throwing her down from a cliff.

The police arrested ANAND. He said he was innocent but pleaded guilty-for, he said, he had committed not one but three murders-having killed a mother’s affection, a wife’s love and the trust of Asha.

Anand was a typist with a secret longing to be a poet. His feet were on earth but his head wanted to soar above the clouds. He loved GEETA and married her, but the lure of a rich life attracted him towards Asha. While the poor wife suffered in silence, the romantic rich girl took away the poet to the luxurious seclusion of her cottage in the hills to compose immortal poetry. But, cut off from life, Anand found that inspiration had forsaken him. And then one day Asha knew the ‘awful Truth’ about Anand-that he was already married! Yet she went after him, with an attaché case full of money and jewellery-but after them both there was someone else, too! There was a quarrel between Anand and Asha and Asha was pushed down the cliff to her death.

But by whom? And why? Who was the real murderer and how was he discovered? Did Geeta get back her Anand?

“AKASH” answers many questions of the earth-and the sky?
